Hey FHS students and family! This year FHS is helping to support a local organization, The Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS) to help raise awareness and fundraise for local refugee and immigrant families through their Run for Refugee Virtual 5K! If you're looking for a fun way to remain active and socially distant while supporting an amazing cause, register or donate HERE under our FHS For IRIS Team! The funds raised from the Run for Refugees enable IRIS to provide vital services to refugees and immigrants in the community. In 2020, IRIS helped 120 refugees and immigrants find work, provided $200,000 in rental assistance, taught students English, art, and music, virtually, and fed 300+ families per week with essential groceries from their food pantry. Next year, they are hoping to continue these elevated pandemic services and welcome many new families, and they would be grateful for FHS's help in accomplishing this goal. The students in the Engineering by Design Capstone Course would like to send a survey to all faculty, staff & students at FHS. The purpose of this survey is to collect information that will allow the students' to design a final product that makes the contact tracing process more efficient.

"COVID-19 has disrupted the normal flow of life in all settings, including schools and the workplace. One of the most important steps organizations can take is the implementation of contact tracing, which allows the administrators of an organization to track possible paths of contamination. Contact tracing is usually done by hand, requiring extra (effort from) staff members all while taking up precious time. Other methods include the use of state-distributed mobile device applications that use Bluetooth to identify other users. This project seeks to automate the process of contact tracing through the use of Bluetooth. The use of Bluetooth eliminates the need for tedious and resource-heavy manual contact tracing while providing a safer and easier to distribute option than a mobile application"

The link to the survey is here:

Senior Parking Passes: Applications for senior parking permits are available from Mrs. King in the main office. The yearly parking fee for the 2020-2021 school year is $75.This is a set fee for the year regardless of what may happen with COVID.Seniors who paid for a spring junior parking pass for the 4th quarter last year will be issued a $40 credit toward this year’s pass.
