Music in Our Schools

IN THIS SECTION

The Farmington Public Schools music department is committed to helping all students master musical literacy in order to communicate with others through performing and responding, and ultimately develop their own creative capacity. Our students learn to think critically and set goals towards the improvement of their musicianship. Musically literate students understand works from a variety of cultures and historical periods while appreciating diverse musical forms of enduring quality and significance. The Farmington Public Schools music program has been recognized for its excellence by the Connecticut Arts Administrators Association and the national organization Best Communities for Music Education.

This webpage is designed to communicate effectively with students, parents, and community partners. It provides information about in-school programs, district-wide, community, and co-curricular activities. Students and parents will find calendars of events, student forms, staff information, and more. There is also a link to the Friends of Music organization, a parent support group welcoming all music parents to membership.

If you have any questions, please contact the music department through the email address provided on this webpage.
