Irving A. Robbins Middle School
The Irving A. Robbins Middle School is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School, providing many rich opportunities for personal growth as students navigate the passage from childhood to adolescence, from elementary to high school. At Irving A. Robbins Middle School, every child has an opportunity to excel.
At IAR, our goal is to promote students’ academic achievement and personal and social growth, while creating a sense of belonging and community for our students and their families. We believe our students are most successful when they are challenged with high academic and behavioral expectations and provided high-quality instruction and appropriate support and encouragement to meet them.
To ensure the academic, personal, and social success of our students, we welcome opportunities to communicate and collaborate. At IAR, we believe that developing positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and administrators is integral to the success of our entire learning community. Partnering together, we will carry out the mission of Farmington Public Schools as we enable all students to achieve academic and personal excellence, exhibit persistent effort and live as resourceful, inquiring and contributing global citizens.
Our grade 7-8 school leverages the benefits of team teaching, an interdisciplinary curriculum and differentiated instruction to best serve the unique educational, social, physical and emotional needs of middle school-aged children. Our newly renovated facility includes cutting-edge technology and visual arts equipment. Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including extensive student undertakings in community service, bring learning alive for students.
