“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island.” Walt Disney | About Our Library
The Library is open every day during school hours. Staff, students and parents are welcomed and encouraged to visit the Library often for books and information. Mrs. Drapela School Librarian Paul B. Janeczko, a published poet, visited our School on May 14. Please just click on the crazy socks to see the pictures of his visit and our "Lunch with a Grown-up" program we sponsored, along with our Book Fair. Let me explain how "Socks that Rock" got started. Paul usually shares with students his belief that the world would be a better place if more people wore interesting socks. Then he challenges the students to wear wild socks to school the next day, and see if they don’t have a great day. Students responded enthusiastically to his challenge. We couldn’t let such exuberant footwear go unrecognized.
A special thanks to Patty Farrah from Union School, for her help in the design of this Web site. | Suzanne Bloom, an author and illustrator of picture books, paid a visit to our school on Friday, December 18. Suzanne shared with the
children some drawings from her own school days, read from her books, and and gave tips to all our aspiring artists and authors. Click on Suzanne's name, to see the original drawing she created for us during her visit. Suzanne Bloom
