The Irving A. Robbins Library houses over 18,000 books! We have everything from hard cover fiction to paperbacks to non-fiction selections, biographies, reference books, encyclopedias, graphic novels, and more!
Most books may be checked out for a period of 21 days, after which time the book should be reurned or renewed for additional time.
When can I browse the library for a book? Students may visit the library before every day and after school on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students may also ask their Homeroom advisors for a library pass during Independent Reading. Students wishing to come to the library during Study Hall should ask Ms. Ransom for a pass.
If I don't know what book I want, how can I get suggestions? Though it's fun to browse in the library, students have other ways of getting information about books. They may: use the card catalog to search; use the many genre book lists available on the counter; ask the librarian to show you how to use Ebsco's "NOVELIST" online; look at the lists of award winning books; use online sites such as YALSA and ICONN's "What do I read next?"; and you may always ask Ms. Ransom, the librarian, for suggestions!
At the I.A.R. Library, we want to purchase the books you want! Always feel free to suggest books you'd like us to get for you!
