The Irving A. Robbins Middle School is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School, providing many rich opportunities for personal growth as students navigate the passage from childhood to adolescence, from elementary to high school. At Robbins Middle School, every child has an opportunity to excel at something.
Our grade 7-8 school leverages the benefits of team teaching, an interdisciplinary curriculum and differentiated instruction to best serve the unique educational, social, physical and emotional needs of middle school-aged children. Our newly renovated facility includes cutting-edge technology and visual arts equipment. Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including extensive student undertakings in community service, bring learning alive for students. Parent support and involvement is an essential factor in our success.
Over the past six years Robbins' eighth graders have scored in the top 10 percent or better statewide on the Connecticut Mastery Test. Many students have achieved individual recognition in science, history, music and writing. Among the faculty are many State of Connecticut Celebration of Excellence Winners, five PIMMS Fellows, a Fulbright Scholar, five Farmington Teachers of the Year and a Connecticut Teacher of the Year semi-finalist.
