Mrs. Bastiaanse-Fritch taught Visual Arts In Enfield for 6 years before coming to Farmington Public Schools in 2007.  Mrs. Bastiaanse-Fritch earned her Bachelors degree in painting, drawing, and digital media (with a minor in art history and french), from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.  While attending Marist she studied at the Leo Marchutz School of Painting and Drawing in Aix-en-Provence, France.  She also earned her Masters in Education (Holistic Thinking) from The Graduate Institute.  She is a commissioned muralist and painter and enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.
